Holiday Central New South Wales

By Anton Maverick

Are you on the lookout for a road trip with a difference? Well you found it and you need Campervan Hire Sydney to get started. In Central New South Wales, you can indulge in a trip which also may include an escapade into the conundrums of the solar system.

You can enjoy a superb road trip which features lots of stops to take a look at 3D models of planets, situated by the side of the road. You get to find out more about a planet, have a drink and a quick break from driving, all simultaneously, There are actually five different trips you can take, however all of them finish up at the Siding Spring Observatory and Coonabarabran. You should obviously do this in sunlight because the 3D planet models don't look their very best in the dark and you won't be in a position to read the data provided. The entire drive, which includes all of the planets, starts at Dubbo.

The Solar Drive will take around a day, but if you make a decision to stay at one or more of the communities you will visit on the way, it'll naturally take longer, so you might want to factor that in to your planning. So you begin at Dubbo which is where you will find 'Pluto ', then on to Gilgandra for 'Neptune'. Next stop is the Tooraweenah Rest Area where you will find 'Uranus'.

You'll find 'Saturn ' at the Camkeena Rest Area and then 'Jupiter ' at Coonabarabran. Keep going and you come across 'Mars'. By this stage you are starting to get close to the Observatory at Siding Spring and 'Earth ', 'Venus ' and 'Mercury ' pop up in fast succession. The Observatory itself is the 'Sun ' and the end of your solar road trip.

So besides learning some really interesting things about the solar system, you get to also see some wonderful Australian views and natural miracles in the area also. Be sure to make the most of the agricultural communities in the area as you pass through and experience some 'dinkum Aussies ' first hand.
